My approach
We can all feel stuck, hopeless, or unable to cope at times. I aim to offer my clients an opportunity for healing and change.
I work integratively, blending mostly psychoanalytic and humanistic approaches within my practice as well as existential philosophy. Working collaboratively, my clients and I explore deeper thoughts and feelings as well as past relationships, encouraging us to make connections between the past and present to identify unhelpful patterns of behaviour that get in the way of living life presently and having healthy relationships. I work relationally, meaning that the relationship between client and therapist lies at the heart of our work. I also like to pay attention to my clients' embodied experiences as stress, anxiety and trauma can significantly impact the body.
Therapy can be daunting as it is a leap of faith into unknown territory and everyone’s journey is different. However my main aim is to create a warm and welcoming space where we can reflect together on my clients’ lives to broaden their perspectives and create new meaning.
I work with all people from different walks of life who present differing issues. I provide some examples below.
